Week 2

This week, my group and I started filming our production using our storyboard filmed animatics to help us with angles and shots.

We aimed to film all of the shots in the two hour period, which we completed but with a few minor problems. In our animatic, we have originally planned to film the production piece coming in through our canteen, into our headmasters office but as I had already said when we were planning, the location may not be free- it was not so we had to re-think a location that fittted in with our animatic. It was hard to find a place in the school that was not busy with classes or other groups already filming! We finally agreed upon filming through the canteen like originally planned, then into our media classroom. We had to film quickly because our classmates would be walking in and out.

We followed our animatic through out the filming and shot each scene twice and quickly as we had alot to film. We discussed every shot to make sure it was correct and we all agreed on it. We came to the conclusion that me and Sophie were in the scene and Tom was filming but we all took turns for filming other shots. One shot that we were un sure of was to do either an over shoulder shot or a tracking shot of me walking over to the desk. We filmed both shots and then compared them when editing and looking back over them. We had to hurry when filming the end shots because there was other people in the classroom but this wasn't a huge problem.

I feel that all the shots worked well because when filming we always checked back over our work and saw if we had to re-film anything. The only thing that might have been a problem was the lighting in the classroom, but we shall see what editing can do to resolve this problem.
My role in the practical production was one of the characters in the scene and also I believe that we all had equal amounts of input and we all listened to each other fairly. I gave all my opinions of each shot and even if we didn't all agree on one shot, we compromised. I think that I played an equal role in our task of filming, filming other shots that I wasn't in and looking over our shots.
